Weight loss surgery patients know that the journey thru weight loss is a life changing adventure. Every journey is unique; Every experience is individual. However, there are some commonalities that we share. One objective of weight loss surgery that everyone shares is to obtain a healthy lifestyle with long term improvement of health. The surgery provides a powerful tool for weight loss and will help you implement a healthy lifestyle. Making required changes to a healthy lifestyle to sustain weight loss, however, can be difficult for many. Join us at May's support group meeting to discuss "Behavioral Changes for Long-term Success". We have invited mental health professionals to discuss ideas and skills to help you reach your goals for life. Orem Support Group: Wednesday, May 4th, 7:00 pm at Timpanogos Regional Hospital in the Women's Center classroom. Discussions lead by Teri Lund, Education Director RMAP with guest speaker. Ogden Support Group: Tuesday, May 10th, 7:00 pm at Ogden Regional Hospital in the Cedar Room. Speaker: Sharon St. John, LPC, is practicing psychotherapy in Ogden, UT. Sharon has a strong background in addictions and eating disorders. She and her partner, Carolie Meccico, LCSW have the only intensive outpatient Eating Disorders program in Northern Utah. Salt Lake Support Group: Wednesday, May 11th, 6:00 pm at St. Marks Hospital in room G04C, ground floor next to the cafeteria. Speaker: Leslee Miller, MSW, LCSW, specializes in treating people who have struggled with obesity and are considering or have undergone weight loss surgery. Leslee leads a group therapy session twice a month to address issues that remain after weight loss surgery. |
